Men's golf comes in second at Colby Classic

WATERVILLE, Maine – Bates College men's golf finished in second at the Colby Classic with a team score of 206 just three shots back of event winner Bowdoin at the Waterville Country Club on Saturday.

In the modified format of best ball, scramble, and alternate shot, the Bobcats' duo of first-year Thomas Garone (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and classmate Brad Rutkin (Great Neck, N.Y.) shot a combined 67 to take second place.

Bowdoin's Thomas Lilly and Kevin Amozyuski won the event with an aggregate score of 66 – one stroke ahead of Garone and Rutkin. 

The Bates men's golf team returns to action at the CBB Tournament at Brunswick Golf Club teeing off at 11 a.m. on Oct. 12.
