Rosen, Ellis repeat as All-NESCAC men's tennis selections

HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates junior Ben Rosen and senior Chris Ellis repeated as All-NESCAC selections Thursday, as the New England Small College Athletic Conference named its Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams.

Rosen, a 2016 NCAA singles championship quarterfinalist who is returning to the 2017 NCAAs May 25-27 in Chattanooga, Tenn., earned First Team All-NESCAC honors as a singles player for the second straight year. Rosen went 12-5 at the No. 1 singles position for the No. 18 nationally ranked Bobcats, including an 11-1 mark in his last 12 matches.

Ellis (Shrewsbury, Mass.) earned his third All-NESCAC award in doubles, as he and Rosen were selected Second Team All-NESCAC as doubles players. Ellis and Rosen were 11-5 as Bates' No. 1 duo in 2017, including victories over duos from such teams as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Bowdoin, Johns Hopkins, Tufts and Georgetown. 

Ellis and Rosen were named First Team All-NESCAC in doubles in 2016, and Ellis was First Team doubles in 2015 with Pierre Planche '15. Ellis and Rosen were also selected as third alternates to compete in the upcoming NCAA Division III nationals in Chattanooga.
