BOSTON -- Junior Sean Enos won the all-divisions New England title in the weight throw on Friday at Boston University, with a top effort of 63 feet and 1.5 inches.

Enos (Lynnfield, Mass.) went 2 feet and 1.5 inches beyond runner-up William Janes of the University of Rhode Island. The 10 points he scored in the event put Bates in a three-way tie with Sacred Heart and New Hampshire after just five events.

Bates' other main highlight on Friday was senior John Wisener's (Ridgewood, N.J.) personal-best performance in the pole vault, where he topped out at 15-3.5 and had some strong attempts at the next height. Wisener's previous indoor best was 15-3, and he remains third on Bates' all-time list in the indoor pole vault.

Enos ranks fourth in the weight throw in Division III this season, based on his season-best effort of 63-6 last week at the New England Division III Championships. Enos is also ranked second in the shot put, and will compete in that event as the meet concludes on Saturday.

Enos was named Co-Field Events Athlete of the Meet this week following last weekend's NED3's. Enos won both the shot put and the weight throw at the meet and shared the award with triple jump and long jump champion Jamie Ruginski of Southern Maine.
