HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates senior forward Molly Brown has been named Player of the Week by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), for the period between Dec. 8, 2014 and Jan. 4, 2015.

On Wednesday, Brown added a fourth weekly honor to her impressive haul, capturing Maine Player of the Week laurels from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA).

The 5-foot-9 Brown (South Dartmouth, Mass.) exploded for a career-high 31 points, including 18 in the second half, and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Bates to a 76-72 win over No. 22 nationally ranked University of New England on Saturday. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from behind the arc over the final 5:05, as Bates came from behind to upset the Nor'easters.

On Dec. 31, in Bates' 80-57 win over Clark University, Brown matched her previous career high with 27 points. A day earlier she led Bates with 19 points in a loss to MIT.

Bates has gone 2-1 since Dec. 8, with Brown averaging 25.7 points on 41.7% shooting, including 50% (13-26) behind the arc. She has also grabbed 6.3 rebounds with 2.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. She is Bates' first NESCAC Player of the Week since Meredith Kelly earned the honor in December 2013.

Brown shares ECAC Division III New England Player of the Week honors with Bianca Langford of Worcester State.

At the start of this week, Brown ranked second in the NESCAC in scoring average, at 17.7 points per game. She was also ninth in the conference in blocked shots per game (1.1) and tied for eighth in free-throw percentage (.783).
