Bates junior outside linebacker Ron DiGravio(Farmington, Maine) spearheaded the Bates defense in a 27-7 loss to Williams on Saturday, helping to frustrate the Ephs' efforts particularly as they struggled to score only three points in the first half.DiGravio finished the game with eight tackles, including 4.5 of them for a total loss of 24 yards. On one key play in the second quarter, with the Ephs at 1st down and 10 on the Bates 23-yard line, DiGravio threw Williams wide receiver Stew Buck for a 12-yard loss on an attempted reverse. Faced with a 2nd and 22 situation, Williams failed to convert another first down and settled for a failed field goal attempt.

DiGravio is tied with junior ILB Todd Wilcox(Brentwood, N.H.) for third on the team with 18 tackles, and leads the Bobcats with 7.5 tackles for a loss.

Dana Lee '07
Senior Dana Leewon women's medalist honors, shooting an 83, including a two-over par score on the back nine, to lead Bates College to the women's title in the CBB Golf Championship last weekend at the Waterville Country Club.Lee (New York, N.Y.) teamed up with first-year Whitney Roller(Haverford, Pa.), who shot a 92, for an aggregate score of 175, three better than Colby's duo of Jessica Vogel and Jackie Page. Bowdoin was third at 199.

The Bates golf team took first place on the women's side and second on the men's side at the event.

"It was an outstanding weekend for Captain Lee and Class of 2010 sensation Whitney Roller," Bates golf coach Peter Lasagna said.
