HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates junior Nolan Collins won NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, announced Monday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference, after his powerhouse complete-game victory against Bowdoin on Friday.
Collins (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) gave up four hits and two runs in the opening inning against Bowdoin on Friday, but he blanked the Polar Bears over the next eight innings, allowing only one hit and two walks.
The righthanded pitcher matched his career-high with eight strikeouts over nine innings. Collins improved his record to 5-1 and lowered his ERA to 2.87, while the Bobcats rose to 4-3 in NESCAC East Division play.
Collins also won NESCAC Pitcher of the Week honors on March 11.
