Hepfinger leads women's golf to seventh place at NESCAC Championships

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Sophomore captain Andrea Hepfinger shot a 98 on the second day of the NESCAC Women's Golf Championship Sunday at Ralph Myhre Golf Course, leading Bates women's golf to seventh place in the tournament.

Bates' four-player combined score was 901 over two days, putting the Bobcats in seventh place out of seven teams. Williams won the team trophy at 643.

Hepfinger (Madison, Wis.) followed her first-day score of 107 by registering Bates' first sub-100 card on Sunday, finishing with a two-day score of 205 to lead the team by five strokes.

Sophomore Eleanor Murphy (Schwenksville, Pa.) scored a 210 for Bates' second best score, followed by senior captain Chelsea Anglin (Dayton, N.J.) at 228 and first-year Eleanor Garnett (Old Greenwich, Conn.) at 258.
