Rookies Baylor, Kalra lead women's golf at Mount Holyoke Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- First-year players Chloe Baylor and Amisha Kalra led the way for the Bates women's golf team as the Bobcats took 11th place among 17 teams at the Mount Holyoke Invitational, which concluded Sunday at The Orchards Golf Club.

Bates' four-player, two-day score of 745 beat 12th-place Wesleyan by 63 strokes.

Baylor (Lincoln, Neb.) shot a 90 on Sunday after carding an 85 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 39th place out of 90 players, at 175. Kalra (Short Hills, N.J.) also checked in with a 90 following her first-day round of 86, finishing a stroke behind Baylor and in a tie for 44th place.

Junior captain Brittany Seipp (Glen Head, N.Y.) tied for 63rd place at 193, and first-year Sylvia Battye (Auburn, Ala.) shot a 97 on Sunday to finish at 201, tying for 66th place overall.

Bates competes in the Middlebury Invitational next weekend, Sept. 28-29 in Middlebury, Vt.
