Stockwell named Player of the Week by MMBCA

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College junior forward Rob Stockwell was voted Player of the Week by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches Association on Monday.


Stockwell (Temple, N.H.) posted double-doubles in all three games of Bates' 3-0 week, as the Bobcats extended their school-record win streak to 14 games.

At UMaine-Farmington on Jan. 24 he scored a career-high 31 points to go with 10

rebounds.

Then in Bates' win over Conn College on Jan. 27, Stockwell became the 26th Bates man to reach 1,000 career points. Needing 13 to reach the mark, he scored 19 points with 10 rebounds.

Saturday against Wesleyan, he had 14 points and 10 rebounds, his ninth double-double of the year, for a three-game average of 21.3 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Stockwell and the Bobcats play host to UMaine-Presque Isle (1-15) tonight at 6.
