LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates forward Andrew Snoddy received All-Rookie Team honors on Monday from the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association, after a productive first-year campaign with the Bobcats.
Snoddy (Stow, Mass.) received the honor despite missing the final seven games of the season due to illness. The versatile 6-foot-6 forward played into a starting role three games into the season and remained in the starting five through his last game on Jan. 19 against Tufts. Along the way he picked up back-to-back MMBCWA Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 25 and Jan. 2.
Playing in 21.4 minutes per game, Snoddy averaged 7.1 points with a .505 field-goal percentage, along with 3.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. Highlights included a season-high 21-point effort on 8-of-9 shooting against Staten Island on Dec. 28 and scoring 17 points at Maine Maritime, 16 points at Salem State and 12 points at Williams.
