NEW ORLEANS -- For the fourth consecutive year, the Division III New England Men's Field Athlete of the Year is a Bates Bobcat, as junior captain Sean Enos picked up the honor on Tuesday from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Enos (Lynnfield, Mass.) again follows in the sizable footsteps of his friend and former teammate, Davis Pless '13, who claimed the same award in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Enos, a three-time All-American in three different events, is one of three athletes who will be competing in three throwing events at this week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University. He is ranked fifth nationally in the shot put, ninth in the hammer throw and 15th in the discus. Some of Enos's highlights from this outdoor season include discus and hammer throw titles at the NESCAC Championships, as well as shot put and hammer titles at the New England Division III Championships.
Enos is one of 16 male student-athletes who earned awards as a track or field Athlete of the Year from the USTFCCCA's eight geographical regions.
