Men's rowing wins two races against WPI

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Bates men's rowing team took on WPI on Sunday at the WPI Invitational and the Bobcat second varsity eight and varsity four emerged victorious in their two-kilometer races.

Facing a 10 mph crosswind, the second varsity eight raced to the finish in 6:11.22, defeating WPI's crew by just over five seconds. 

Meanwhile the third varsity eight clipped WPI by one second, finishing their 2K race in 6:18.58 with WPI coming in at 6:19.68.

The first varsity eight for Bates came in second by about the same margin. They posted a time of 5:58.3 while the winning WPI boat finished in 5:57.84

The men's rowing team is back in action at Tufts on April 15.
