
BOSTON -- The No. 1 nationally ranked Bates women's rowing team won two out of three competitive, head-to-head races against lightweight crews from Harvard/Radcliffe on Sunday, capping a weekend of racing against Division I competition on the Charles River Basin.
Bates' first varsity eight (WV8) edged Radcliffe 6:55.3 to 6:56.1 over 2,000 meters. Radcliffe edged Bates in the W2V8 race 7:05.3 to 7:07.4, but the Bobcats took the W3V8 matchup handily, 7:18.0 to 7:25.4.
On Saturday the Bates women raced three eights going head-to-head against the Boston University lightweights. BU prevailed in all three races on the Charles River Basin, winning the WV8 matchup (6:50-7:01) as well as the W2V8 (7:02-7:08) and the W3V8 race (7:24-7:30).
Bates next races on the Malden River Saturday April 13 against host Wesleyan and host Tufts.
