WORCESTER, Mass.—The Bates College men's rowing team finished in second place in both the varsity eight and second varsity eight races today on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Bobcats faced a field that included Holy Cross, Tufts and Williams.
Holy Cross won the varsity eight race with a time of 6:15.7. The Bobcats were second crossing the finish line 3.56 seconds behind the Crusaders (6:19.26). Tufts finished third (6:21.82) and Williams claimed fourth place (6:23.78).
In the second varsity eight, Holy Cross took first place, registering at time of 6:19.97. Bates was second with a time of 6:23.9. Williams was close behind, finishing third in 6:29.54, and Tufts came in fourth (6:49.31).
Williams claimed first place in the third varsity eight race. The Ephs clocked a time of 6:38.3. Tufts finished second in 6:42.26. Holy Cross was third with a time of 6:49.84, and Bates took fourth place finishing with a time of 6:53.62.
The Bobcats will be back on the water tomorrow, April 28, when they host the Presidents Cup Regatta. Racing is set to begin at 9 a.m.
