LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates first-years Ariana Dalia and Meghan Graff are two of the five players who were selected for the Maine All-Rookie team, announced Wednesday by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association along with its other year-end awards for the 2018-19 season.
Dalia (Brick, N.J.) and Graff (South Portland, Maine) give Bates its first Maine All-Rookie Team duo since Val Beckwith and Jackie Powers in 2006. Both players earned MWBCA Rookie of the Week during the course of the season.
Dalia immediately became a key piece of the Bobcats' rotation, and was inserted into the starting lineup in all 24 games. She ranked fourth on the team in scoring (8.3 ppg), second in rebounding (6.0), first in steals (1.8) and first in blocks (0.9). Highlight performances included compiling 12 rebounds, three blocks and two steals against Amherst and 20 points with 10 rebounds in an early-season win over Thomas.
Graff led the Bobcats in scoring (11.4 points per game) and assists (2.8). She made 18 starts and played the second-most minutes on the team. Graff shot .375 from the field, .313 from three-point range and .780 from the free-throw line, where she attempted 2.5 foul shots per game. She scored in double figures 12 times, including a season-high 21 points against Norwich, 19 points against Amherst and 16 points against Hamilton.
