Late goal pushes Bowdoin past women's soccer, 1-0

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bobcats women's soccer team (4-4-2, 1-2-2) dropped a tight 1-0 decision to Bowdoin (5-2-1, 3-2-0) Wednesday afternoon at Russell Street Field. 

Bowdoin out-shot Bates 24-9 in the match. Bates sophomore keeper Sarah McCarthy (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) made six gaves on the afternoon. First-year Olivia Amdur (Chicago, Ill.) tallied five shots and two shots on goal for the Bobcats.

In the 79th minute Julia Patterson scored the lone goal of the match off an assist from Kiersten Turner, coming into the box unchecked to put away Turner's corner kick.

Bates will look to get back on the winning track on Saturday as they visit Connecticut College. The match starts at 11:30 a.m.
