LEWISTON, Maine -- Following up on the All-NESCAC award she received last month, Bates junior defender Allison Hill received two additional postseason honors on Monday. Hill was named Second Team All-New England by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), and Third Team All-New England by the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA).

Hill (Brunswick, Maine) overcame early-season injury to lead Bates' defense in the 2015 season, while also producing two assists on the season. A standout hurdler on the women's track and field team, Hill was named NESCAC Player of the Week on Oct. 26 for her performance in Bates' 2-0 win over Middlebury. In that game, Hill was responsible for both of Bates' team saves, clearing out two would-be goals by the Panthers. She also served up the assist on the game's first goal, scored by senior Karen Lockhart (East Greenwich, R.I.).

Hill's performance helped Bates finish with their best NESCAC record since 2005, turning in a mark of 4-3-3 to finish the regular season in fifth place in the conference. As a result, Bates made its first NESCAC postseason appearance since 2010 and its second appearance in nine seasons. The Bobcats finished the season at 7-6-3 overall, registering their best winning percentage since 2006. In November, head coach Kelsy Ross was named NESCAC Coach of the Year while Hill and first-year forward Olivia Amdur (Chicago, Ill.) were both named Second Team All-NESCAC.

Hill is Bates' first player during Ross's five-year tenure to be honored by either the NSCAA or the NEWISA.
