BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Addie Lalor tallied the game-winning goal in the 65th minute and Morgan Fedosiewich made six saves to lead the Babson Beavers past the Bates women's soccer team by a score of 2-0 Saturday morning.

Babson (4-2) and Bates (1-4) were very evenly matched throughout the contest, with the Beavers tallying 11 shots to the Bobcats' 10.

During a scoreless first half, Babson's Sam Borjeson had a chance go just wide of the back post off a corner kick by Maggie McCabe in the 42nd minute, and Bates had a goal called back less than six minutes after halftime when the flag went up late for offsides. Lalor broke the stalemate in the 65th minute when she headed McCabe's free kick from along the right sideline inside the near post for her second marker of the season.

The Beavers doubled their advantage in the 83rd minute when Caitlin Trott was fouled just inside the top of the box. Julia Janikies was called upon to take the ensuing penalty kick and she drilled it inside the right post.

In addition to having a goal called back, the Bobcats saw senior captain Riley Turcotte's (Middletown, R.I.) bid to equalize go just wide in the 80th minute, while Fedosiewich denied junior Elizabeth Bennett's (London, England) shot from the middle of the box just prior to Janikies' penalty kick in the 82nd minute.

Bennett paced Bates with three shots, one on goal. Senior Sarah DiPillo (Medway, Mass.) added a pair of shots on goal and junior captain Katherine Nuckols (Los Angeles, Calif.) tallied three saves between the pipes for the Bobcats.

Bates returns home to take on Southern Maine on Sunday at 2pm on Russell Street Field.
