WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Bates women's soccer team gave an impressive effort to finish out the 2019 season, earning a conference point with a 0-0 tie at Colby on Tuesday.

Junior goalkeeper Katherine Nuckols (Los Angeles, Calif.) made five saves behind a staunch defense for the Bobcats, earning her second shutout of the season.

Bates (2-11-2, 0-9-1 NESCAC) earned their first point in conference play this season against their rivals, the favored host Mules (5-6-3, 1-6-3 NESCAC).

After withstanding a 12-6 disadvantage in shots attempted through regulation time, the Bobcats dominated both overtime periods, outshooting the Mules 7-0 in those 20 minutes.

Colby goalie Shannon Gray made one of her six saves in the first OT, on a shot by Bates senior Riley Turcotte (Middletown, R.I.), and she made two more stops in the final 10 minutes, against senior Sarah DiPillo (Medway, Mass.) and first-year Cecelia Pilgrim (North Kingstown, R.I.).

Contributing to the effort were all five of Bates' seniors, playing in their final collegiate games: Adena Bernot (Old Westbury, N.Y.), DiPillo, Laura Jarry (Calgary, Alberta), MacKenzie Kelly (Dallas, Texas) and Turcotte.
