No. 18 Women’s Squash tripped up at No. 11 Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. --The No. 18 Bates College women's squash team was tripped up at No. 11 Brown this afternoon 7-2. Junior Luca Polgar and senior captain Kristyna Alexova earned the wins for the Bobcats at the top two spots in the lineup.

Polgar improved to 4-0 this season with a 3-1 (11-4, 8-11, 11-6, 12-10) victory over Brown's Alexa Jacobs at the No. 1 spot. Alexova fought for a 3-0 (13-11, 11-7, 11-7) win, topping Isabel Young at No. 2. Alexova is now 3-1 this season.

Brown secured wins at Nos. 3-9 to clinch the overall victory. The Bears earned 3-0 wins at Nos. 3-5 and 7-9. Bates first-year Emma Galambos battled through four games at No. 6, but fell 3-1 (11-7, 11-4, 7-11, 11-2).

The Bobcats are now 2-2 overall this season, while Brown started off its season with the win.

Bates will be back in action tomorrow, Dec. 2, when it hosts No. 2 Trinity (Conn.) at 11 a.m.
