Women's tennis falls 9-0 at No. 6 Pomona-Pitzer

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- No. 6 nationally ranked Pomona-Pitzer downed the Bates women's tennis team 9-0 on Thursday, evening the visiting Bobcats' record to 1-1 on their Southern California trip.

Bates moves on to play at Caltech Friday in Pasadena at 3pm Pacific.

The Sagehens won 8-3 at both first and third doubles, while in the most competitive match of the day, at second doubles, senior Elizabeth Erbafina (Sudbury, Mass.) and first-year Isabella Rovinski (New York, N.Y.) battled to an 8-5 decision against Grace Hruska and Samantha Mae Coyiuto.

Pomona-Pitzer went on to win all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 3-1, including a 3-0 mark against Division III competition.
